About a year ago Google offered new referral program for Adsense – Firefox with Google Toolbar. If you referred people to download and install a fresh copy of Firefox with Google Toolbar, you would get 1$. There were also scripts like “Internet Explorer killer” that was showing banners to clients with Internet Explorer encouraging them to use Firefox. I`ve earned some bucks with this referral program, but lately I`ve noticed, that earnings have decreased pretty much.
Looking at daily reports I see that there is no more 1$ earnings.
So I looked in TOS and this is what its about:
Firefox plus Google Toolbar: When a user you’ve referred to Firefox plus Google Toolbar runs Firefox for the first time, you’ll receive up to US$1 in your account, depending on the user’s location. Your referral must be a Windows user, who has not previously installed Firefox, in order for you to receive credit.
What difference the location makes? I think it`s time to remove all of these referral links, as only one person out of 2000 clicks on the link and then only 10% actually install firefox, which makes me $0.01 out of every 2000 uniques.
Anybody else noticed this decrease? Also visitors are much more blind to Adsense ads now..
